А как именно они взаимосвязаны, нам помогли разобраться известные профильные специалисты — врач-психотерапевт заведующий кафедрой клинической психологии Одесского национального университета им. И. И. Мечникова Борис Херсонский и народный архитектор Украины профессор Владимир Глазырин.
Жители разных городов за годы и столетия «заслужили» определенную репутацию. Парижане — легкомысленны, питерцы — высокомерны, венцы — дружелюбны и открыты, одесситы — эмоциональны и смешливы, пражане — дружелюбны, но обособлены. А пожелаем представить себе города — увидим архитектурные объекты: Эйфелеву башню, Эрмитаж, Хофбург, Оперный театр и Собор св. Вацлава. Конечно, изначально люди строили дома и города в согласии со своим «генетическим кодом» (менталитетом, темпераментом, религией, культурой и пр.), а также в соответствии с природными условиями, ландшафтами и материалами. Есть и такое понятие, как «национальный пейзаж» — общий привычный вид какой-то местности с ее формами. Если даже линии, нарисованные на бумаге, воздействует на психику человека (ломаная — напрягает, округлая — расслабляет), что уж говорить о городских чертах?

Города XX века — другая история, другие формы, другие задачи. В Одессу приехала барышня из промышленного городка и в разгар наших стенаний на тему «некуда пойти» воскликнула: «Как вы можете так говорить?! Ведь у вас есть красивый исторический центр, есть море… А у нас — только улица Ленина! Борис Григорьевич: «Все по сто раз смотрели фильм “Ирония судьбы…”, где была обыграна архитектурная унификация, стандартизация архитектуры 70-х годов. Она отражает и некую стандартность образа жизни и в каком-то смысле ее поощряет. Вот свежее впечатление от Восточного Берлина: пустующие панельные дома-высотки, которые постепенно идут под снос. Угнетающее зрелище! Когда у людей не было выбора, они радовались возможности жить отдельно. Речи о психологическом комфорте не было: тесные квартиры, высокая звукопроводимость… Недавно в “панельном” районе я видел бумажку-объявление измученного жильца: он просил соседей тише заниматься сексом! Сегодня человек, который живет в хрущевке, редко чувствует себя счастливым».
Правда, улучшить ситуацию можно не только разбивкой клумбы или переездом в район с богатой архитектурой, но и с помощью внутреннего дизайна помещения. Ведь именно там современный человек проводит большую часть времени.
